Consumers' resiliency is about their 'ability' to forget all that is happening to them these days. Does this mean that as soon as the economy bounces back, albeit gradually, they will start spending like they used to? Yes, but with some significant differences. The same differences we are seeing today in their spending patters and expectations.
Companies that have been able to see and respond to the needs and expectations of the new consumer are not just weathering the storm of these challenging times. They are getting themselves ready for a very bright future which, in spite of all the doom and gloom, it's starting to look more and more possible every day.
