Consumers, the economy and competition are getting tougher. Customers’ expectations keep rising – what rated a ‘WOW’ in 1998 was a ‘Pretty Good’ in 2008 and will be a ‘Who Cares!’ in 2018 – standing still is falling behind. The economy is a roller-coaster. And as for the competition, that is getting tougher too and more widespread.
Competition can be anyone who is doing better than you, in your own or other industries and they are setting your customer’s expectations. Think share of wallet not share of market: if there’s only a limited amount of cash available, guess who gets it? |
